We need a reality check on the scale of our climate problem. We are putting about 36 billion tons of carbon, mainly as CO2 from fossil fuel burning, into our atmosphere annually.
We grow 12 billion tons of grain to feed us all (8 billion of us) each year, and we put one third of the land into agricultural use to do so. That means that we would require at least another planet’s surface area to capture that much carbon.
The fossil fuels we are burning are the product of carbon capture on many previous Earth surfaces. These are layered underground yet regarded as one source. They are not. They are historical multiple surfaces of the Earth from long ago.
The natural carbon cycle that the Earth has used to balance the environment uses one current Earth surface, hence it is being overwhelmed.
Since we have created this problem, it requires us to correct it. We are going to have to reduce fossil fuel as rapidly as possible at the same time as finding some means of carbon capture.
Gas molecules are further apart from those in liquids, which in turn are further apart than in solids. This is basic school science. Then why are we trying to pump gas underground to counter liquid and solid carbon taken out?!
The best way to capture carbon is by using the photosynthesis of plants to produce cellulose, which is 40 % carbon. We need more than one planet to do that though as shown above.
To get the tonnage we need will require an exponentially growing plant of short maturation time and one that we can create multiple Earth surfaces for.
Only one plant can do that safely and efficiently by simple construction of propagation trays in vertically stacked layers, with dirty water as the growing medium. DUCKWEED also has many uses for humanity after it has balanced the captured carbon equation, so any propagation buildings can continue use after.
To go back to figures, a ton of duckweed on day zero becomes over 32 billion tons after day 70.
A farmer converting just one field into a single storey of 50 tray layers will have the equivalent of about 4,500 harvests, i.e. 4,500 Earth surfaces. Now we have the chance to lock up enough carbon to regain control.
This will not happen though until we all get to hear about it and demand our governments worldwide snap into action to grow and store enough duckweed to restore the natural levels.
Over to you then. You need to tell everyone you love and know. Word of mouth is good enough.
Covid spread rapidly by mouth across the globe. Now we need something good spread by word of mouth to all corners of the Earth. Each one of us individually can do something about it by simply letting the knowledge spread.
