Many congratulations to Sir David Attenborough on reaching your 100th Birthday

Dear Sir David & BBC Natural History Unit, on the celebration of all you have done together, this must not become our swan song. With the current climate crisis worsening, not solved, we are all considering Mitigation & Adaptation. The figures are depressingly overwhelming and fossil fuel lobby as powerful as ever.

However, there is a new spring, an Environmental Revolution in the offing, delivered by this equation for carbon capture by natural means (plants): ‘Mass x Time x Equivalent Surfaces of the Earth’. It needs to balance on both sides for us to regain natural control of ‘The Carbon Cycle’.

Fossil fuel is from multiple historical Earth surfaces so to balance the carbon cycle up again we as humans have to do that by providing our own extra Earth surfaces.

This is how.

1 ton of duckweed (a tiny angiosperm plant that grows on water) on day zero becomes over 32 billion tons on day 70, if allowed to spread. All it requires to capture that 36 billion tons of carbon out of the atmosphere is to provide the duckweed the extra surface area it needs; not two dimensionally on our ONE Earth surface, but three dimensionally in stacked vertical trays of 1.5 cm deep, to whatever number of Earth surfaces we need.

The sky’s the limit. SIMPLE and doable.
